After 6 months of deep pain and various unproductive explorations with five other specialists, I found Dr. Abbott's practice. Excellent experience all the way around from referral to the practice, scheduling appointments, fitting for oral appliance, follow up and availability for phone follow up appointments. Had an excellent resolution to my own mild sleep apnea with an adjustable oral appliance. From first appointment to resolution of sleep apnea was only six months for me.

It took a few visits, but each time I came I believe that the prognosis became clearer and the TMJ pain was lessened when I followed Dr. Abbott's instructions. He has referred me on to an oral surgeon.

There is a (very) limited pool of doctors in the DC area with his level of expertise in the orofacial field. I really appreciate that he is willing to do phone appointments, as I live in DC and his office is a bit of a trek for me. I definitely trust his opinion and would recommend him to anyone who has complex medical issues.
