“I was referred to an orthopedic ...”
I was referred to an orthopedic surgeon by my orthopedic doctor, to discuss potential surgical options, in case that physical therapy and other options don't work, and I would eventually need surgery. First I explained my medical problem. Then he described the problem that I had, and showed me some illustrations. When I asked what the treatment would be, he answered bluntly that it was surgery. I was shocked, and began asked him many questions, until he said very rudely to me not to interrupt him, that he speaks first and I ask questions later. I apologized, and said I was overwhelmed by the news. At the end of the conversation he explained the sequence of other options before resorting to surgery. Before leaving, I thanked him and again apologized, telling him that It was a lot for me to process. His reply to me was again mentioning that I kept interrupting him. This was very rude. It was the worst experience that I have ever had with a doctor.
