Dr. Macaluso has done an outstanding procedure on my eyes, Since the cataract surgery my vision is very clear and crisp. The dr explanined about dry eye and gave samples to try and its much improved. I highly recommend Dr. Macaluso and his staff for cataract surgery. He has improved my vision and life dramatically.

Dr. Macaluso appeared well informed, and knowledgeable of his field. In exploring LASIK/PRK options, I (in hindsight) would have appreciated further discussion around drawbacks and/or troubles that folks have post-LASIK/PRK, especially seeing as how it is an elective procedure. In June 2018, the New York Times reported a story ("Blurred Vision, Burning Eyes: This Is a LASIK Success?') around post-LASIK/PRK consequences. Some doctors were found to be shielding patients from significantly likelier negative consequences of an elective procedure than were widely advertised. I feel overall positive about my experience at Asheville Eye, but I do think sharing all sides of the story/experiences, would be a confident move if one is sure of their service offered.

I have a lifelong history of high myopia. After a retinal detachment repair in 2013, I asked Dr. Mac to replace a subsequent cataract in 2014. The surgical outcome was 20/20, and I no longer need a corrective lens in that eye. After 5 years, my other eye needs the same procedure, and I am happy to have Dr. Macaluso perform this as well. Highest recommendation from a fellow MD and surgeon.

A totally outstanding experience with Dr. Mac. From the moment he entered the examining room and assured me that that my cataract procedure would be easy, I felt assured about his abilities. His explanations of what to expect made me very comfortable and at ease. After that, everything went exactly as he had explained. Now, 2 months after the procedure, the most important thing is that I am experiencing the best eyesight that I've had in years. Outstanding clarity and crispness.Now it's all HD!
