A neurosurgery consultation includes taking a thorough history taking, neurological examination, and review of appropriate diagnostic studies (MRI, X-rays, CT) to help determine the cause of symptoms. As part of your visit, you may undergo in-office tests to evaluate the condition and function of the peripheral nervous system using an electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocity (NCV) study, or both.
