“Dr. Sadowski was very condescend...”

Dr. Sadowski was very condescending to me this visit particularly. He appears to have a wealth of knowledge, but his bedside manner is lacking. He came into the room very quickly after I had been taken there. He asked if my eye had been dilated. I told him I had not been dilated. He asked which eye I was having problems with so that he knew which one to dilate. I explained that I thought I was getting my annual checkup. He then sternly asked, which is it? You are here for a particular problem, which I thought was emergent, or are you here for your annual checkup? I explained the situation from December's appointment to today's appointment. Yes, I was overdue for my annual checkup, but also yes, I was having increased floaters in my right eye. With my history of having a detached retina in that eye, and with that being one of the reasons he always tells me I should call him to be seen, I felt I had reason to be there. He then stated that since I had "brought him up to speed," he would dilate both eyes. He proceeded to do this, and began his assessment immediately. This caused me major concern. I know that dilating drops do not work immediately and usually have to sit for 20 to 30 minutes to give them time to work before seeing the doctor. I had been told when scheduling this appointment, and going to a new office, that there had been a cancellation and I agreed to fill that slot and be seen. Dr. Sadowski made me feel that I inconvenienced him by doing so, almost ridiculing that I thought my reason was "emergent." Yet, one of the last things he again said to me was that I should always call him if I have sudden flashes of light, curtains, or increased floaters in my vision field.
