“This recent experience left me d...”
This recent experience left me deeply saddened and discouraged. After undergoing a liver procedure just a month ago, I came to Dr. Paul seeking support, guidance, and reassurance. Instead, I felt disregarded and overwhelmed. He made statements that suggested the surgery was not successful and implied that I could die, which was extremely distressing to hear-especially without context or explanation.Rather than listening to my concerns or answering my questions, I felt pressured into more invasive procedures-such as a liver biopsy, endoscopy, and evaluation for a transplant at Mayo-without meaningful discussion or acknowledgment of how those procedures might affect my already fragile condition. I wasn't given real choices or support in understanding the reasoning or the risks, including potential internal bleeding. What's worse is that I left the appointment more confused and hopeless than when I arrived. I felt more like a test subject being pushed from one procedure to another, rather than a patient whose health and dignity should come first. I still don't even know if the liver procedure I just went through was successful.During his physical exam, Dr. Paul pressed very hard on my liver and even harder on my groin area-where I recently had radiomobilization done. It caused pain and added to the distress of the visit.Because of this experience, I no longer feel safe or supported in continuing care with Dr. Paul or at MNGI. It is incredibly disheartening to reach out in a moment of need and be met with this kind of treatment. I hope this feedback is taken seriously-not just for me, but for the sake of other patients as well.
