“Unfortunately we ended up gettin...”
Unfortunately we ended up getting our sons Xrays and info sent to Sanford Ortho Peds because we felt Dr. Vener did not fully listen or acknowledge the pain level that our son was in with his current splint we had seen him to evaluate the current short splint placed in the ER the night before because he was having extreme pain In his knee with any movement (screaming and shaking/sweating), and we even asked about having a longer splint placed to help immobilize his knee. I felt that Dr Vener didn't fully acknowledge our concern with it, and he did not think the splint needed to be extended. Well later that night we ended up wrapping it ourselves with medical wrap and it did seem to help with his pain. We ended up going to Sioux Falls Ortho and just having a full cast placed that next day. That was a difficult decision to make, but I could not handle my child being in extreme pain for another week when it could have been fixed that day with a longer splint. Just overall frustrated and disappointed with how the whole appointment went.
