“The surgeon has absolutely no be...”

The surgeon has absolutely no bedside manners. I had a very concerning and still have a golf size cyst on my left shin caused by a deep tear by a coral encounter two months ago in Hawaii. I have a huge bump on my leg that is painful and not going down in size. My primary doctor said that the cyst needed to be removed surgically and recommended me to your office. The provider barely took a look at it, was very dismissive and just told me to go home. I asked if there was any danger to my health and he told me verbatim: "you would be dead if there was, at this point." He said he could take it out if I wanted toI'm not sure what that means. He did not recommend any x-rays or any further exams. I also mentioned that I have a persistent pain under my left foot which I never had before and he dismissively said that the underfoot pain had nothing to do with the wound. I hope he's right He finally said that in six months if the bump is still here to come back and then he would take it out. Very strange, I have seen several doctors in my life and have never encountered someone like this.Definitely would not recommend this person.

I no longer wish to do this procedure based on my meeting with Dr. Solomon. I would think that as someone trying to overcome a lifetime of fat stigma I wouldn't continue to face this as I am trying to lose weight via a life changing procedure. It was very heartbreaking that I continue to face medical professionals with little bedside manner. The meeting was very procedural like I was another person on the list for that day. I have spent my entire life being told there is something wrong with my body and it should be fixed. I explained my efforts of trying to lose weight before and was told there was no way that I haven't lost weight with the efforts I had and that I needed to aggressively workout. Suggested some eating disordered behaviors such as skipping meals and high impact workouts which I cannot do because I have arthritis. I have a PhD, not that it should matter but I felt I was talked down to. I have done my research on this procedure as well as why I maybe haven't lost weight. Maybe expecting more from a provider who does this surgery was a fault of mine.

Doctor Solomon has showed minimal care about symptoms and condition from the first visit. Dismissed the ultrasound, provided no details on the condition and simply stated to schedule a surgery date (3 minutes visit after waiting 20 minutes for him to show up). On the day of the surgery he stopped to say hi and did not explain the procedure. After surgery showed up at the last minute before I got in the car to leave the hospital just to say that all went well. I was surprised to see an additional incision (4 total) on the opposite side of the abdomen, he never mentioned there'd be. I've had post surgery pain in the area for 6 months for which he ordered a CT scan that was done recently. According to him there is nothing "exciting showing" and the pain would have nothing to do with surgery. The CT scan would not show the mesh implanted and he is sure all is well with that. His only suggestion is to take pain medicine which he ordered.
