“Being a generalist and not a spe...”

Being a generalist and not a specialist, she was as good as I would expect - knowledgeable, and giving exactly accurate diagnosis, information, and recommended treatment, while also scheduling xray and appropriate referral to a specialist, who could confirm diagnosis and tune the treatment a little, including providing appropriate specialized DME.
