“She has been my provider for 7 o...”

She has been my provider for 7 or 8 years. I try not to see anyone else because this provider knows my history intimately. If any tests ever need attention she contacts me. I was houseless earlier this year and she found a social worker for me to help on her own time. I've never had a provider that understands me and always sees my humanity. Being impacted by mass incarceration and I am on a long term methadone maintenance program she has never stigmatized me like most other healthcare professionals. I wish all doctors were as professional and empathetic as Dr. Lam
