“When a patient goes to a special...”
When a patient goes to a specialist, there's usually an issue. And if they're like me, they're nervous and a little scared. Well, if they have a kidney concern, there's absolutely no one I would recommend them seeing other than Dr. Idoux. Ironically, both my husband and I had some kidney numbers show up on blood tests that concerned our PCPs at the same time so we were referred to Dr. Idoux. My husband saw him first and I saw him a week later. Consider these comments from both of us because we attended each other's appointments and had the same reactions towards him, even though they're in my words. As I'm entering my "senior citizen era" I'm starting to see a lot of doctors, all of them BS&W to keep it in the family, so to speak. Most of them are great, but every once in a while you meet one that rises above the rest. One that just has that special way about them that makes you feel seen and heard. Makes you laugh even when you're scared. Makes you confident that no matter what the results of the testing will be, that with THIS doc by your side, you'll have the best chance. Dr. Idoux is this doctor for me. Of course he's smart, he's a BS&W doc, but he's so much more than that. He smiled, he listened, he showed me data on the computer to ease my concerns, he's chock full of empathy, and never once did I feel rushed or dismissed. He was animated and truly "in" the conversation, not just sitting on his stool with his arms crossed. I went from being nervous to laughing to getting a hug at the end. BTW, the results are in and both my husband and I are back in the normal range. Is it weird I'm just a little sad that I won't be seeing Dr. Idoux again unless they drop?
