“I felt dismissed because he want...”
I felt dismissed because he wanted me to get a urine sample next time I had an infection and I was travelling on airlines and not willing to go to yet another random urgent care clinic or ER on a trip when I had meds to treat. I was urinating blood and small clots and his facial expressions and tone Insinuated he didn't believe me. I have struggled for YEARS and it is not easy to walk into a strange male doctor and discuss urogyn issues, especially when they sit there coming off as judging with flat affect. If you want me to do something different or need to reinforce something, then educate or re-educate with compassion. I am a 53 year old doctoral health care educated professional and do not appreciate the coldness and dismissiveness of this office. I will not be returning and nor would I recommend it for women trying to compat sensitive and life disrupting issues. You need more female urologists as we have none in town and I wile Dr. Kim may be textbook educated on the subject, he has no idea what it's like to be a female and deal with these recurrent and uncomfortable to discuss with strangers issues.
