“From the moment the doctor enter...”
From the moment the doctor entered the room, he seemed to have already developed a plan and asked me miminial questions about my concerns that day. He did not do a physical exam, although I was clearly in pain and having trouble finding a comfortable position. He was unwilling to answer questions about what recommendations he had for pain control while I waited for my MRI and continually referred to seeing my primary care doctor for recommendations (despite this being his area of expertise). His approach was dismissive, demeaning, and belittling. I didn't expect to have my issue resolved during the visit but I had a reasonable expectation of empathy, listening, and having my questions answered. Following the visit I had the opportunity to discuss my concerns with a spine surgeon friend of mine who was surprised that I had not been examined and who was easily able to tell me the typical pain regimen for severe pain for my issue. I faced additional challenges in scheduling my MRI in a timely fashion. The order was not submitted as urgent and I had to call the office and my insurance company multiple times to rectify the situation. Furthermore, I had to pay for the MRI in advance to schedule it before my follow up appointment for potential intervention. I would recommend that Dr. Pradhan approach future patients with the care and respect he would afford his own family members. He made an already difficult situation worse and I will seek other specialists in the future.
