Dr. Houser is a pro. He rides the line between friendly and cordial versus clear, concise and blunt - which is appreciated. I have seen him twice as he is a new pcp for me. I believe he wants the best for me and my health and is willing to help and do what he can do, which is not as common an experience as it should be. I have two minor quibbles. I take late afternoon visits and there has been some waits, but I wouldn't call them excessive and he is always apologetic and kind. It just might be the nature of end of day office visits in a medical setting, though... You may not always have understanding patients. The other minor issue is MyChart messages. I know it says responses can take up to 72 hours, but when it is an issue that is causing some anxiety or you have other entities like the retail or mail order pharmacies involved, it can be frustrating. I would recommend Doc Houser to anyone.

I respect the honesty of Dr. Houser. When he is unfamiliar with a medication suggested by a specialist I am seeing, he doesn't pretend that he knows about it. He is clear in his thoughts about them and his suggestions about what my next steps should be, what I should be thinking about as I weigh benefits versus side effects. I feel very comfortable opening up to him about my concerns because he is so open and honest about what he is certain of and what he is not familiar with. That approach really helps me determine what my next steps should be. I think he is great.

The visit was a new patient visit with Dr. Houser so some of the questions are based on just the one interaction, but it was a good experience and I felt very comfortable with him. I trust it develops into a long relationship. I am new to the Medford area and so is he so we shared the moving transition adjustments.
