After learning that a close family member was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer, I made an appointment at UPNT to see Dr. Bevan-Thomas to get checked. To my dismay after going through the necessary testing procedures, my diagnosis came back as stage 2. Dr. BT took the time to clearly go over the diagnosis and treatment options. My first instinct was active surveillance but he made it understandable that was not an alternative in my case. So, I decided to have a prostatectomy instead of radiation.
Dr. BT gets it. From his excellent treatment, curiosity, investigative mind and ability to connect, you know where you stand immediately and what next steps look like.
Now in my second year after the surgery, I am living a normal life prostate cancer free. My gratitude to Dr. BT and his staff for the favorably outcome.

My story begins with a simple PSA test from my primary physician during an annual exam. My lab results indicated an above average PSA of around 10. My physician recommended follow-up with a Urologist. I was skeptical since I had no symptoms . I am so glad I took his advice because it turns out I had prostate cancer. I’m fairly young (50’s) with two amazing kids in college. I want to see them grow and raise families so I choose to fight this disease as aggressively as possible. After research, discussion with family and a lot of prayers I choose robotic surgery. I can honestly say that after a couple years I am close to normal and have the peace of mind that I am cancer free. Please get annual physicals including a PSA test.

Explained all options to me very clear and concise which helped with my anxiety and fear. Surgery was preformed without any problems. The key to recovery was following the doctors instructions to the letter. I have no problems with incontinence or erectile dysfunction to this day. I can not thank Dr. Bevin-Thomas enough for guiding me through surgery and after care. He is a game changer!!!!!

I can’t remember when ever I have peed as good as I am now. If you have an extra enlarged prostate you need to visit with DR. Bevan-Thomas. He fixed this goat rancher and he can you also.

Prostate biopsy that I had been dreading due to stories that I have been told that the procedure was very painful. Dr Bevan-Thomas is great, made me feel comfortable and explained what he was doing during each step of the procedures. I experienced no pain and have had dentist visits that were more uncomfortable.

My urinary problems started when I was 50 years old. Medications helped for a while. Finally I was on vacation, when I reached a point I could not urinate, very painful.
