University Health Women's Care Lakewood Family Birthplace provides the optimum in family-centered birthing services for those special deliveries. Approximately 1500 babies are born annually in a true LDRP (Labor, Delivery, Post Partum and Recovery) center, with spacious private rooms and all the amenities you would expect, located close to the main entrance of the hospital. Parents have the choice of delivery by OB/GYN, Family Medicine providers, or Certified Nurse Midwives. The midwife choice is popular and is a true draw in the market place. A level II NICU is located within the unit. Pre-natal classes are free for all who deliver here, as are lactation consultants and a variety of breastfeeding and new parenting classes.
