The UF Health - Precision Health Research Center in The Villages brings together a team of scientists, clinicians, learners, innovators in industry, and community partners. What unites us is a passion for improving health and wellness for older adults, and a desire to advance science that facilitates our ability to predict, prevent, and cure health problems that impact health and wellness in late life in a customized and personal way - for individuals and communities. Leveraging our internal strengths in technology and community engagement, we are committed to working symbiotically with our partner groups to explore community/environmental risks and preventions, genomics, cutting edge treatments, and advanced technologies that are both high-tech and personalized touch to tailor strategies for healthy living to the biology and life circumstances of older adults and their surrounding communities.
Consistent with our shared passion, our mission is to improve health and wellness for older adults in our community/region and beyond. To succeed, we aim to become the world's premier translational aging research center/community, rooted deeply in the values of engagement, innovation, stewardship, speed (we are purpose-driven and action-oriented), accountability, diversity (in research, partnership, and people) and a commitment to robust scientific inquiry/evidence at every stage in the research process.
The Center includes clinical spaces for health assessments, physical performance measures, phlebotomy, as well as space for education, training, and testing of new technologies. Center researchers have the capability to conduct a wide range of research studies, including pharmacological, nutritional, behavioral, physical health, cognitive health, and more, for older adults.
