“In retrospect”
I began seeing this therapist to help me with my marriage. I was convinced at the time that the problems in my marriage were because I felt my wife was controlling and stubborn. At the time I had been married to her for 26 years. During our counseling sessions she reinforced my feeling about my marriage and wife. Now, that my marriage has ended, and I am feeling this profound sense of loss, I am realizing my role in the relationship and its demise and how I was not honest. The role of the therapist is to help you see both perspectives and not just say the things you want to hear.
