The Steen Laboratory Research program focuses on advancing the fields of proteomics, mass spectrometry, and systems biology to better understand human disease and identify new opportunities for diagnosis and treatment. Led by Judith A. Steen, PhD, and Hanno Steen, PhD, the laboratory develops innovative technologies and computational tools to analyze proteins, biomarkers, and molecular pathways involved in pediatric and neurological diseases. Research areas include neurodegenerative disorders, regenerative biology, biomarker discovery, protein regulation, and the development of high-throughput proteomic methods that can improve disease detection and therapeutic development. By combining cutting-edge mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, molecular biology, and translational research, the Steen Laboratory contributes to scientific discoveries that advance precision medicine and improve outcomes for patients worldwide.
