Dr. Epstein spends an appropriate amount of time examining me, explaining blood work and Urinalysis results, Kidney counts to me and instead of a nurse performing these other tasks, Dr. Epstein himself takes my Vitals. Dr Sall has been my provider for tgec25years- he is extremely knowledgeable of my issues and ny personal medical issues- answer ny questions. Discussed side effects of my meds and how to adjust dosage etc to help control the health issues they cause while maintaining my kidney function is not affected. A delicate balance he understands and does his best to help me maintain my health - 35 year living related transplant recipient has many health issues from being immune compromised- we work closely to maintain a good quality of life - it’s hard. But very intelligent medical decisions

“A careful and accurate diagnosis based on a full battery of tests, followed by an innovative - and so far successful course of treatment.”

I came to Dr. Perlman after my previous nephrologist threw up his hands and admitted he was unable to stem the decline of my kidney function. Dr. Perlman ran some thirty tests, many of which I had never previously taken, following which he added some new medications, ultimately including the recently approved finerenone. The result was that, in my latest blood and urine tests, my kidney function seems to have stanilized.

“Extremely knowledgeable, insightful, concise and caring”

Dr. Bomar was the first Rogosin provider to treat me as a dialysis patient. The meetings I’ve had with him helped me to establish my definition of comprehensive care and my expectations regarding future providers I encounter. The first treatment day as a new dialysis is daunting to say the least. Rather than feeling overwhelmed by witnessing all that was happening to and around me that I didn’t understand, I was able from the very start to learn about dialysis and its many factors and considerations. It was comforting to know that the person managing my treatment going forward was Dr. Bomar.

“Didn’t build confidence or trust”

Dr Bohmart didn’t appear to be listening and grasping what I am trying to say. He didn’t even have a diagnosis or explanation to my situation. Simply asked me to continue follow ups with my regular nephrologist. People visit rogosin to get some expert opinion and explanation for their problem

He suggested to get kidney biopsy done to have correct diagnosis but when I said my regular nephrologist didn’t want to do it for my case considering risk vs benefits he immediately agreed.

I would have felt confident if he was quick enough to catch what I was saying and provide a detailed explanation of situation rather than saying I agree with your regular nephrologist.

He is very responsive. Calls me as soon as blood work comes in to discuss results, often in the evening. Has reviewed a number of possible medications to help me though after researching their side effects and my other conditions, including talking to my other doctors we had to reject them. He doesn’t accept excuses but doesn’t judge and has compassion but wants the best outcome for all his patients . ! I find that a very good quality myself and helpful in maintaining my own health and kidney health —

The man is brilliant, attentive, detail oriented and fanatasically tuned in to his patient. I've had nephrology care at Sinai & NYU. Neither came anywhere close to the thoroughness & complexity I get from Dr. Lakkis. He has answered every question, explained every test result, and dealt with all the secondary issues related to kidney disease like NO other nephrologist, yet he is very upbeat and encouraging. And I am a nervous, scared, not the easiest patient. I wish every doctor practiced medicine at his level of detail .and individualized care I worry that it will be difficult to get an appointment now that he is taking on a new position.

“Always an experience at Rogosin construction and all but every one is geat signage good”

He is very thorough and easy to talk to. He had a thought about a more intrusive test to figure out why my levels were rising and he listened to my thoughts about my blood pressure medication that had been increased twice. He put me on another medication and creatinine has been coming down. I would recommend him.

One of the medications I take for Parkinson's (Amantadine) has the side effect of raising serum-creatinine, which creates a false-alarm for kidney disease. Just for safety he ordered some scans, and explained why he was ordering each one.

My primary care Dr suggested I see a Kidney Dr. My granddaughter is a nurse at the hospital and got me a recommendation .Needless to say I was very nervous but Dr Leung right from the 1st meeting was calming patient and very through. Shortly after the first visit he called with the blood results and explained what he wanted me to do and set up a follow appointment to see how I was progressing and retested my blood .At that next meeting he gave me another blood test, because I followed his suggestions was better. He set up another appointment.Since he has been so helpful and available at tht appointment I thought it would be better to have my primary doctor at the same hospital so I asked him if he could recommend someone Dr Leung said he would have someone call me to set it up. Which he did a few days later. Many Drs are skillful and talented which is of course as a patient important but Dr leung listens to you and never makes you feel your questions or concerns are unimportant.
