Dr. deVilleneuve is a board certified general surgeon and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has been in private practice in the McKinney/Allen/Frisco area since completing his surgery residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City in 2004. Born in Texas, he did his undergraduate work at Texas A&M University and subsequently attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He currently lives in McKinney with his wife and twin girls who manage to occupy most of his non-working time. When he is working Dr deVilleneuve uses his extensive training and experience in laparoscopic surgery to perform a wide variety of surgical procedures, specializing in minimally invasive or laparoscopic hernia repair and cholecystectomy (gallbladder removal). He routinely performs over 350 laparoscopic hernia repairs a year, having done over 1,500 since 2008. In addition he does over 250 laparoscopic cholecystectomies a year, having done over 1,000 during that same time span. While these are his most commonly performed operations he still sees and treats a variety of surgical problems, ranging from diverticulitis to soft tissue masses (lipomas or cysts) to bowel obstructions to appendicitis. He is also trained on the Da Vinci robotic surgical system and is able to perform a variety of robotic assisted procedures including Nissen fundoplication, diaphragmatic hernia repair, and cholecystectomy to name a few. The office is open Monday thru Friday and is able to provide wither same day or next day appointments when requested with the ability to schedule surgery within 24 hours of your office visit in most cases.
