Our board-certified Thoracic Surgeons are highly-skilled in treating lung cancer, emphysema and diseases of the esophagus. In addition, Thoracic Surgery is often grouped with Cardiac Surgery for procedures such as those treating coronary artery disease or abnormalities.
Working with the Thoracic Surgery Department at Saint Vincent Hospital, we provide a range of modern techniques and procedures. These include Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery for minimally invasive procedures and Endobronchial Ultrasound biopsies to accurately determine lung-cancer progression.
In addition to more traditional forms of surgery, the Thoracic Surgeons at Saint Vincent Medical Group are trained to use CyberKnife® technology, a medically advanced robotic system used for targeted, nonsurgical treatment of cancer.
