In CenteringPregnancy® eight to 12 pregnant people meet in a relaxed atmosphere for prenatal care. Each group is comprised of pregnant persons who are due to deliver their babies around the same time. The group shares 10 visits during their pregnancy. Each visit is 90 minutes to two hours long. This gives women approximately 10 times the normal amount of time received with their provider for prenatal care.
For CenteringParenting, six to eight parents meet with a pediatrician. They will also bring their babies who were born around the same time. Each visit is two hours long. These visits bring birthing mothers, their support people and infants who were born around the same time in community with health care providers and other parents who are experiencing similar things at the same time.
