“Excellent Helper”

I had recovered from many issues relating to depression and weight when others were not able to mae a turning point. I highly recommend this doctor.

“Fulfilling experience!”

We were at the brink of divorce due to infidelity within the marriage, and several years of generally being frustrated, both with each other, and with some other elements in our lives. We agreed to see two doctors within Specialized Therapy Associates to work things out individually, and after a few months, we met with Dr. Gourdine together for family sessions.
Dr. Gourdine was amazing. Her ability to listen so carefully, and peel back the layers of very raw emotion, and to arrive at a succinct and insightful conclusion, thought, or insight at the end of what were hours-long sessions is uncanny. It is easy to admire how highly educated she is, but what we found to be the most brilliant thing about her was how she was able to be so sensitive and empathetic, yet so tough. She really challenged us to see each other's perspectives—something that we had become unable to do. At first, it was a very difficult process, but with every visit, we exited our session feeling that we had dismantled another little piece of the wall that we had built between each other. Speaking with her always helped to bring clarity to situations that we struggled with.
With time, we were successful in changing behaviors and habits that helped us to re-discover why we were together in the first place. Not only do we now communicate better within our relationship, and our relationship with our children, but with members of our extended family as well. On so many levels, Dr. Gourdine was able to offer insight and advice that challenged us to become better, both for ourselves and for the sake of each other, and we are very happy that our family is intact and that we have been able to reconnect in ways that are fulfilling to both of us.

“Highly Recommended!!”

I was under the care of Dr. Vanessa Gourdine for one year. When I first met Dr. Gourdine I had attempted to commit suicide. I was extremely depressed. I was unable to work. Every day was unbearable. Dr. Gourdine recognized immediately that the sleep aid that I was taking had caused a chemical imbalance which deepened my depression and led me to consider suicide. With medication and monthly visits, I was slowly able to regain control of my life. I returned to work within the month. Slowly my interets and enjoyment came back. I am happt to report that I am no longer depressed, and I no longer need medication. Dr. Gourdine saved my life.
