Excellent Hospitalist who listens and makes common sense decisions

I had a stroke in Nov 2010 and my case was complicated by a congenital elstrolyte mishandling issue and also inability to handle most drugs.
The first doctor I saw would not hear me out on a critical electrolyte issue, and wanted to discharge me while I knew from how I felt, that I was dangerously hyokalemic. But she handed me over to Dr Wimmer.
Dr Wimmer took me seriously, ran a test to show hypokalemia was severe at that point, and went the distance to find a way to help me. He respected what I said, he listened when I explained the critical oddball potassium issue I had. He did hourly tests plus IV potassium infusions to make sure he got me to the right level before discharging me some days later to rehab, with a suitable new potassium prescription. That saved my life, as hypokalemia in this congenital issue, leads to heart attack and death within 24 hrs if not addressed. It is how other members of this family have died.
A doctor who listens and follows up saves lives.
My utmost respect goes to this one,
