“Difficult to reach, rude staff”
Dr. Writesel is the Medical Director at Regency Manor...where my mom currently resides. He was her doctor though he maybe saw her once. He is apparently a Medical Director at many places yet spends little time at any of them. I called and left a message asking him to call me back to discuss my mothers care. When I did not hear back by the next day, I left another message around noon. Still no return call. There is not a receptionist.... only a voice mail. When I called that day at 6 pm, his wife, Michelle, answered. She works for him and is his Nurse Practitioner. She very rudely made me aware that they know I have been calling. I was told that they work 12-14 hour days and don't talk to patients/family on a daily basis. I explained that I did not expect that, but that I would expect a return call. She was extremely combative and even told me to find another doctor or find another facility. I then fired him as my mothers doctor and reported this incident to the CEO of the parent company that owns Regency. It is a basic patient right to be able to ask questions and get answers without threats. Please re-consider if he is your doctor...or is over-seeing the care of a loved one.
