“A Step Above and Beyond”

My local provider couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, so she sent me to Rockford Gastroenterology. Meeting Dr. Peifer for the first time, not only did he come prepared to discuss my situation and care, but he was willing to listen to my concerns and history instead of just stare at his computer. I felt like a human being instead of another number being pushed through the system. I also like the fact that he is not a pill pusher. He knew that I didn't want to take all of the medications I was on for the rest of my life and was willing to try and wean me off if at all possible. It was because of his plan and care that I am now able to function again without GI pain. He listens to what I have to say while I am here and takes the time needed with his patients.

I have been very happy with my overall care. Dr. Peifer listens and makes recommendations about my condition and medications and how to improve my condition. He understands my wish to lower medications and allows it when my condition is stable.

“The doctor I trust with my life for over 20 years as cancer patient and cancer survivor!”

I have been Dr. Vicari's patient for over 20 years. I was 20 years old when diagnosed with nasopharyngeal cancer. I had by now 2 times feeding tubes due to inability to eat during radiation therapy and post radiation therapy due to radiation side effects. Dr. Vicari was always there for me, took his time, listened to my problems, offered the best solutions that no other doctor did refute or over-ride. He even walked the "extra mile" on my case by inquiring about my case with his old medical professors, with Mayo clinic, and during GI seminars to make sure he is providing the best care for me. He preformed about 60 medical procedures on me over the last 20 years trying to help me keeping my ability to eat before I had to have the feeding tube again.I trust this doctor with my life and I have not changed my GI doctor for the entire 20 years of my 20 year cancer and post cancer ordeal. Thank you Dr. Vicari.

“A Very Good First Impression”

Dawn was professional, friendly and answered my questions thoroughly. I did not have to wait long for any staff member.

I thoroughly enjoy coming here. Dawn and the entire staff are so kind and sweet. Thank you to all. I have been to many many doctors since my work accident in 2012. I know the difference of great care and not great care. This place is always GREAT CARE.

“Thankful for her explanations”

Dawn answered questions and explained things in layman's terms that I could understand. She was positive, funny and very helpful. Since I don't have a diagnosis yet, she was explaining why a colonoscopy would help figure out what these symptoms mean. I'm thankful she took the time to do that.

“Very knowledgeable and professional but I felt rushed.”

Went to provider for GI issue. She was extremely confident, intelligent, and went right to work. Spent maybe 2 minutes in total with me minus by explanation on my being here. Felt rushed but ultimately she felt like a knowledgeable doctor I can trust.
