“Most destructive experience of my life.”
The single most destructive experience of my life. I had originally taken my 2 young children to see him. I didn't have or need a therapist prior to meeting him. He convinced me I should see him too to help my kids. I agreed. He referred the kids out. He seemed very competent at first, so much so that I ignored huge red flags that went up a while later from things he began saying to me about a previous client. What I went through with him was so traumatizing that I have spent over a year now trying to overcome the PTSD I developed as a direct result of seeing him. The therapist I have been seeing since Schramm said the notes he gave her had no diagnosis, no treatment, no diagnostic work and nearly all of the clinical entries were illegible. She has no idea what this man was even working on with me. My experience with him has been that he is a master at making someone believe he is helping them while he makes them completely dependent on him. I still can't believe what he put me through. Prior to meeting him, I would not have believed there were people like this roaming the earth. I have since learned that there is a name for this- Malignant Narcissist.
