I first came to Dr. Phelts with a number of back problems. I have scoliosis and if I don't see a chiropractor every so often then my back gets tight and I feel lots of pain. I was having trouble sleeping, experiencing pain in my legs and pain in my upper back. And I'm a young guy! I came to Dr. Phelts and his work on me has been PHENOMENAL. I always look forward to coming because I feel like I have a new back each time I leave. I normally don't see chiropractors more than once a quarter but his work was so effective and good that I occasionally come in for extended treatment. I also love that he does soft tissue work. This is so important for someone like me with scoliosis.
Beyond that, Dr. Phelts is a great guy who really cares and takes his time. I never feel rushed or hurried in my appointments as he takes time to answer questions, explain how my back is currently doing and show me different things I can do at home to improve the health of my back and body. He is a HOLISTIC chiropractor which is a rare find. Come see him. You won't regret it.

I've been seeing Dr Phelts now for over five years, he's treated me for various sports injuries including two surgeries one to my foot the other to my knee besides the occasional stiff neck and elbow problems from working out for over 40 years. I've seen my share of chiropractors and sport therapist and I can truly say he's the best! Because he takes his time to explain and treat you without rushing you out for the next patient. I don't know what I would do without Dr. Phelts. For the past 5 years, he has seen me through some of the most important phases of my life. Dr. Phelts has seen me as a young working professional who had neck and back pain from sitting and typing all day, to an expecting mother with all the accompanying back and misalignments due to my growing child, and now a mother of that now 2 1/2 year old toddler.
Not only is he knowledgeable about muscle, spine and joint alignment but he is well versed in nutrition, health and has his own effective line of nutritional supplements. He is always patient, never rushed and has a lovely bedside manner. For those of you who believe in chiropractic care, he is the doctor for you. “A Miracle Worker”

Dr. Phelts is quite literally a miracle worker. I came to him for rotator cuff injury/frozen shoulder after seeing another physical therapist and an acupuncturist who both did more harm than good. I was in constant pain, couldn't sleep at night, had lost all muscle tone in my bicep and tricep, and getting dressed was an ordeal. I had been getting steadily worse for 6 months and thought I would never get better. From the very first visit Dr. Phelts almost completely eliminated my pain! And it was totally gone by the third visit. He uses a combination of techniques, exercises, and nutritional supplements to restore you to optimal health. I am almost completely back to normal and feel fantastic. I can't recommend Dr. Phelts highly enough!

“A Wizard Healer”

John Phelts is a wizard of a healer. I was diagnosed with 2 Frozen Shoulders by an Orthopedic Surgeon, towards the end of December 2014. Following 12 weeks of physical therapy, I had some improvement in one shoulder, but the other shoulder worsened. In terrible pain, I returned to the Dr. for advice. He recommended surgery. I sought a second opinion from an expert at the Hospital for Special Surgery in NYC who recommended Cortisone shots and further PT, stating that it would probably take up to 2 years before I recovered my range of motion. After some research regarding the shots, I declined them and returned to PT. My PT therapist mentioned that she was using some skills from the Niel Asher program, but she'd not trained in the techniques. I found The Niel Asher website, learned more about the techniques, and requested a recommendation for a certified therapist in NYC. They recommended John Phelts.
I made an appointment with him soon after.
He is a kind, compassionate man with a warm sense of humor. He put me at ease quickly, gave me a thorough exam, and began treatment. It is now only one month later, and I have nearly full range of motion in both arms. I have been amazed at the speed at which I regained range of motion. The constant pain was gone soon after he began treatment.
I will continue to see him to achieve and maintain optimum recovery. I am impressed by his skillful work, and extremely relieved I chose not to listen to either of the recommendations by the other two doctors.

“EXCELENTE DOCTOR, RECUPERÓ MI HOMBRO ”

Yo perdí la movilidad del brazo Izquierdo, al punto de no poder vestirme ni peinarme sola, en Chile los doctores me diagnosticaron "Hombro Congelado " , me infiltraron el hombro con corticoides , hice terapia de rehabilitación, y nada funcionó, finalmente me indicaron cirugía. En mi búsqueda de alternativas médicas, conocí a John Phelts, por lo que viaje a New York a verlo, después de 3 sesiones, nuevamente pude levantar mi brazo y recuperé un importante porcentaje de movilidad, pude retomar mi vida normal, luego de vuelta a Chile seguí con un programa de ejercicios, en video y a la fecha he recuperado el 90% de la movilidad de mi brazo, al mes siguiente desde que comencé el tratamiento.

Estoy muy agradecida del John Phelts, hay muchas personas que tal vez están sufriendo la misma limitación de movimiento que yo sufrí, producto de esta dolencia denominada Hombro Congelado, a todos ellos les recomiendo a John Phelts, un excelente profesional, a quien le debo mi recuperación y que me evitó una cirugía.
