After struggling with vertigo for a couple of years, it became worse after getting Covid-19. Dr. Owens and Loree McGee worked very hard to figure out what was going on with me. Learning I had Menieres disease and ways to help it, we decided to do the Shunt surgery. It has helped so much. I am 6 weeks post op. Healing great and actually some of my hearing has come back which is an added bonus, Dr. Owens has been awesome. He is extremely knowledgeable.. He has explained eveything so well and on a level I understood. I am very thankful for Owen's Ear Center and Dr. Owens.

Doctor Owens changed my life for the better 8 years ago with a Stapedectomy Revision surgery, which allowed me to recover my hearing after and earleir procedure by a different doctor degraded. I went to several ENTs over the year and just got told my leaking ear with limited hearing was just going to be what it is was. I walked into Dr. Owens and in 5 minutes he not only had a plan but he explained to me what was going on in my ear and gave me a very thorough explination of expectations (good, bad, and ugly). The surgery went well, my pain was managed well, the office responds quickly, and when there was an after hours issues, Dr. Owens was on the phone with me at 9pm within 5 minutes. I now have a functional ear and my hearing is vastly improved. I can't say enough for Dr. Owens or his office. Although....I do miss laying down on my "good ear" (right side) with my "bad ear" (left side) up so that I can't hear my kids while I nap....oh well. I guess I'll have to learn to have two functional ears again. :)

I am now 18 months out of my shunt surgery for Meniere's. Prior to surgery I was unable to even get out of bed by myself, but over the past 18 months I have hiked a 14,000 foor mountain, I have snow skied on blue & black runs, and I can still hear! Bottom line ... I can live the life that was mine before Meniere's nearly robbed me of everything I love. Dr. Owens knows what he is talking about. I only wish I had found him before I lost about 2 years of my life with the debilitating vertigo that Meneire's patients know much too well.
