Seems very knowledgeable and took a lot of time going over the various treatment options. Even demonstrated the "shock wave" treatment. Dr. Black came highly recommended from a physical therapist. Excellent experience. Best I have had with a doctor in a long time. Seems to really care about the patient. Need more like him.

Dr. Black thoroughly reviewed my MRI taking time to look at the slides and describe what he was seeing. He used medical terms but also was able to use lay terms and examples to fully communicate what he saw and explain his diagnoses.

Then he gave options for a recovery plan, took the time to answer all of my questions, and did not force his preference for treatment but rather clearly gave the pros and cons of each option and allowed me to choose the course of treatment that was best for me.

This was a very traumatic accident to my foot physically and mentally. In meeting Dr. Black helped me get through everything from start to finish. He explained everything to me

I had gone to multiple doctors who misdiagnosed my rare foot injury and I always felt rushed out of the office and like I was just a number to them. When I met with Dr. Black for the first time I felt like someone was finally listening. He never made me feel insignificant or like my pain wasn't real. He spent quiet a bit of time listening to what I had to say and was able to properly diagnose my foot injury and steer me away from un needed surgery and refer me to a wonderful pain management office and PT. A shame I live in CA because I feel like he is the only doctor I trust now. I would refer anyone and everyone to him.

From the moment I first walked through the door, I knew I was in the right place. The staff was smiling, pleasant and efficient. They genuinely cared about me the person, not just my issue.
Dr. Black listened to my concerns and took the time to explain not only my problem , but the procedure, risks and anticipated results. My goal was to be able to walk comfortably with both ankles within one year for a trip to Europe. He said if all goes according to plan he feels that will be no problem.
The surgeries went without problem and I"m completely healed without any pain or discomfort with 5 months to spare. The follow up went perfect and I'm good to walk for miles and miles.

This is my 3rd right ankle surgery. I was hesitant to have the ankle replacement; however, I could not endure the pain anymore. i was very pleased with the whole experience. I was taken without an appointment after fracturing my fibula. After wearing the walking boot for 6 weeks another ex ray revealed my fracture healed. I highly recommend Dr Black. I was given exercises to improve muscle loss I experienced from wearing the boot. Looks like I will be back to normal soon thanks to Dr Black.

“From the Time Dr. Black first took care of me I felt at ease.”

I was seen by Dr. Black for a very painful hammer toe. He gave me several options to consider. One being rods put in my toes and the other taking the toe off. I happen to see an article in a medical magazine describing a possible way to take care of a hammer toe - cutting the tendon. I asked Dr. Black about this procedure and he was willing to try it. Fortunately it worked and I am no longer in pain. I really respect Dr. Black for being willing to try this procedure even though at the time he wasn't sure it would be successful in my situation. He is one very understanding and professional doctor!

Had 2 plates and 10 pins and screws inserted into my right foot. One year later, foot works perfectly without feeling any of the surgical corrections. Dr. Black was very empathetic but forceful in his explanations of what he was going to do. Three months of no weight bearing was initially daunting, but went quicker that anticipated.
