I was recommended to see Dr. Rivadeneira for a fistula that was related to my Crohn’s disease. He was so personable, calm, and confident in his skills. He advised me to schedule surgery for a fistulotomy, and at first I was very anxious but eventually I went through with it, and I am so glad that I did. During a routine colonoscopy a cancerous tumor was found by my gastro(Dr. Keschner) who immediately called Dr. Rivadeneira. We were given an appointment 10am the following morning and surgery was scheduled for the end of the week. After 3 months of wearing a drain for an abscess from Diverticulitis, I was recommended to Dr. Rivadeneira from another surgeon, due to the fact I was considered high risk. Met with Dr. Rivadeneira who explained in detail the surgery I need. He also advised me based on the CT scan, I may need a colostomy bag whether it be for 3 month or the rest of my life since the diverticulosis was spread throughout my sigmoid colon.
