At the age of 48, I was diagnosed with a CHECK2 gene mutation. Along with some other issues in my health, my odds of a breast diagnosis was crazy high. After a few days of research and stress, I decided to go through a double mastectomy along with reconstruction. Dr. Mathieson was referred to me by my surgeon of many years and I literally could not have expected more. Dr. Mathieson was incredible. It's a stressful and emotional process and his guidance, care and expertise was amazing!

Dr. Mathieson took the time to explain the process from start to finish. He showed me actual examples of the types of tissue expanders that would be used so that I would have a better idea of what was going on in my body. Dr. Mathieson has answered all of my questions throughout this process. I am happy with his compassion, knowledge, and skill level.

I had a small lesion on my lower eye lid that was questionable.
Dr Mathieson was proactive and removed it immediately and sent it to Pathology. Fortunately, it was not malignant and there is no evidence to the naked eye - no need to use coverup!
