At ECU Health Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center, we offer a range of non-surgical services designed to restore movement and function in adults and children following illness or injury. Our physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) specialists have advanced training in general physiatry, cancer rehabilitation, sports medicine, obesity medicine, pain management and spinal cord injury, and excel in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions like:

• Abnormal gait


• Arthritis and osteoarthritis


• Back and neck pain, chronic pain, and nerve pain


• Cancer-related fatigue, pain, weakness and more


• Neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis and peripheral neuropathies


• Pediatric functional and developmental disorders like failure-to-thrive, toe walking, cerebral palsy, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida and developmental delay


• Spasticity


• Spinal injuries and disorders

We offer a number of diagnostic tests and procedures like:

• Diagnostic and neuromuscular ultrasound 


• Electromyography (EMG)


• Hyperbaric oxygen therapy


• Injections such as epidural steroid, therapeutic botulinum toxin (Botox), trigger point, nerve blocks and more


• Nerve conduction studies


• Prosthesis and orthotic fittings


• Intrathecal baclofen pump refill and analysis
