ECU Health Cardiac Rehabilitation - Roanoke Rapids has partnered with Pritikin ICR to bring intensive cardiac rehab to eastern North Carolina. This evidence-based program aims to improve your cardiovascular health by combining safe, regular exercise with nutrition and lifestyle education.


Our program includes:


  • 72 sessions – 36 exercise sessions and 36 education sessions – over a period of up to 18 weeks

  • Personalized exercise plan and nutrition counseling

  • Engaging workshops, videos and cooking classes designed to help you make heart-healthy choices, manage daily stress and more

  • Monitoring of new or ongoing symptoms, blood pressure and heart rate


You may qualify for ICR if you've experienced:


  • Angina (chest pain)

  • Heart attack within the last 12 months

  • History of coronary artery bypass surgery

  • History of heart valve repair or replacement

  • History of coronary angioplasty or stenting

  • History of heart transplant or heart/lung transplant

  • Stable, chronic heart failure
