ECU Health Cancer Care at the Eddie and Jo Allison Smith Tower is located on the campus of ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville. This six-story, 418,000-square-foot facility is home to both inpatient and outpatient services, allowing patients to receive all of their care in one convenient place.
The center is transforming cancer care in eastern North Carolina and is an important part of ECU Health’s commitment to improving the health and well-being of the people who proudly call this region home. Teams of dedicated cancer professionals work together to develop customized treatment plans for each patient. Cutting-edge equipment and technologies ensure that patients receive the best care right here, close to home. Advanced teleconferencing capabilities connect doctors across the region and allow them to securely share medical records, images and ideas. They then collaborate on individual cases and develop the best plan of care for each patient.
Every detail of the facility – even down to the soothing colors, soft music and the abundance of natural lighting – has been designed to create a warm and welcoming environment for the comfort and convenience of patients and their families.
The tree of life and the donor wall, both located in the registration area, serve to honor the generous donors who have turned the dream of a full-service cancer center into reality, and to share their vision of healing and hope with all who enter. These elements embody the ‘flowering tree’ theme of the facility – present in all seasons and bringing forth joy, hope and renewal.
Our philosophy of care focuses on healing of the mind, body and spirit. The building has an open, light-filled design and beautiful artwork representing life and nature from across our state. Complementary therapies like art, music, yoga and massage are also part of the supportive care our patients receive.
