“What a Guy!!”

I have been to many doctors in my 71 years, and Dr. Burris is just outstanding. In addition to knowing his stuff, this doctor has bedside manor, listening skills, and the ability to explain things down to a science. For such a young man, (I have shoes older than him), he has wisdom beyond his years. What a pro! I might add that his assistants, Megan, and another young man whose name regrettably I cannot recall, just make the entire experience flow. An excellent team!

I was beyond impressed with my experience with Dr Burrus. He was thorough in treating my trimalleolar fracture and actively listened to all of my questions, as well as my concerns. He explained my injury and laid out all steps so I knew what to expect for care and recovery. His staff was courteous and professional, as well. His specialty is shoulder but he can take care of all your ortho needs, I'm proof of that!

“Highly Recommend Dr. Burrus”

My injury was completely out of the blue and I was extremely nervous that I could not gain full use of my dominant arm and wrist, but Dr. Burrus and his staff put my mind at ease and devised a clear plan, explaining what my expected progress would be. He was honest that I might not gain full motion but encouraged me to push my limits to achieve the best outcome. I highly recommend contacting Dr. Burrus and his staff with any orthopedic injury you are needing to address.

“Very positive experience, would highly recommend.”

This was the first time I have ever needed a surgery. I had an ACL reconstruction with Dr. Burrus. He was very clear on the procedure and did everything he could to make sure I was ready for the surgery. The recovery was great, he answered all the questions I had, and he is very responsive. It has been 5 months now and I am back to doing my normal routine, running and working out on my knee with no issues. I had a great experience and I would definitely recommend him and his team!

“Satisfied, but could have been better”

I was advised to meet with Dr. Burrus for a bone infection. The diagnosis seemed rushed and over-interpretive, based on partially incorrect assumptions. However, the treatment was very effective and the recovery relatively painless. I must note that I couldn't start the antibiotic therapy because the pharmacy didn't receive the prescription from Dr. Burrus, and it took a lot of effort and several calls to Austin Bone and Joint clinic to be put in contact with him. He rapidly solved the issue.

Dr. Burrus was the doc on call when I wound up in the ER after a terrible fall injury with resultant fractures. I will be eternally grateful for his exceptional clinical expertise & attention to detail in a stressful situation, not to mention his incredible surgical acumen & thoughts toward surgical after-care. I am so grateful for meeting this Doctor. “Outstanding Physician and Person”

I am 76 and have seen very many doctors, but I don't believe I have ever had one that I would grade at 5 stars, across the board. Doc Burrus is not only an excellent physician, but also a very good "people person". I haven't ever had a Dr that communicated, and was so fully patient oriented. He is the first, and only one that uses all means available, including email, to keep in touch with his people. And I believe that is what makes him stand out. His patients are his "people"!

Dr. Tyrrell Burrus is an exceptional, outstanding and wise orthopedic surgeon. He is excellence, personified. Having performed a complicated, surgical procedure on my right rotator cuff, part of which involved repairing a full thickness tear of the rotator cuff, post surgery, he ensured that I had all the post op care necessary to ensure my well being throughout my recovery.
Dr. Burrus did not just stop after surgery in his care for me, but, provided the necessary hospital days and necessary rehab, outpatient and inpatient. He also provided me with home health care and later to outpatient therapy. I highly recommend this proficient and personable physician to whoever may be of need of his services.

I would (and have been) highly recommend Dr. Burrus to my family and friends. I was able to get an appointment with him much quicker than other orthopedic surgeons. “Hip Problems Completely Resolved Thanks to Dr. Burrus”

I was referred to Dr. Burrus for surgery for a torn labrum in my right hip. During pre-op assessment, Dr. Burrus expertly recognized some additional bone abnormalities that were likely a cause of significant pain and came up with a plan to address these during surgery. His diagnosis was spot on and the surgery a remarkable success. The recovery was extremely easy and three months out from surgery all of my symptoms have resolved and I have no pain and full range of motion again.

Dr. Burrus was the second surgeon I met with regarding my torn ACL. He spent the time to explain what was going on with my injury, what my options were, and what he recommended. “Went from pain to new way of life without it.”

Terrible pain in my hip kept me from being active and sleeping well at night. I explained to Dr Burrus the issue and after taking an xray he was able to explain to me the issue I was having...It very informative and gave me the direction I needed to go strengthen the muscles that were weak and causing the bursitis in the hip. A steroid injection was helpful to the place where my therapist could work with me and help me to exercise. I truly appreciate the knowledge I have now thanks to Dr Burrus.

After I dislocated my kneecap, I came and visited Dr. Burrus. He helped me get an MRI set up right away and when the results came in, we scheduled my surgery immediately. The day of my surgery everything went well, and the year since then has been great! No issues at all anymore. I'd recommend Dr Burrus to anybody needing orthopedic help!

“Great with our daughter's ankle”

We are very happy with Dr. Burrus. He listened to what was going on with our 13 year old's ankle and her previous diagnosis. “Labral Tear in Shoulder”

Dr. Burrus took the time to listen to me describe my shoulder pain. After making a diagnosis and discussing my options, we decided to give physical therapy a try. It has made a night and day difference in the way my shoulder feels. I really appreciate his willingness to try alternatives to surgery. “Highly Recommend”

My shoulder has been ailing for the last 10 years due to a sports injury. I have seen multiple doctors about the injury but none of them truly listened to my problem and tried understanding exactly what I was dealing with on a daily basis. Dr. Burrus listened very well, and then explained to me the entire process of MRI and physical therapy. Everything was well explained. The follow up was also well appreciated. Dr. Burrus has been incredible from the get go. He allowed me to talk about my history with a chronic shoulder dislocation. We discussed options and he went into detail about each and what he would recommend based on time, my job, my out of pocket expense, and long term goals. Dr Burrus is a doctor that I felt very comfortable with on the very first visit. He was incredibly professional and willing to spend the amount of time with me to discuss the procedure and then the post surgery plan, even answering a question I emailed him on a Saturday evening which I definitely did not expect as it was an urgent question or issue. Lastly, he emailed me pictures taken during the procedure which showed exactly my problems and how he repaired them. Great doctor and great team!

I could not be more please with Dr. Burrus's care. In this day and age when you feel like you are a burden to some medical providers, Dr. Burrus is the total opposite. He even followed up with me via email to check in and see how I was doing. To me, that is stellar care!
