Dr. Laura Van Schaick-Harman

I am committed to providing meaningful, purposeful, and evidence-based psychological services to the community. I use a collaborative, problem solving approach and work to create a meaningful cooperative partnership with the children and adults I work with. Through a community of respect, I join my client's team and strive to help children and adults to recognize and create meaningful experiences and relationships in their life. Using principles of cognitive-behavioral therapy and positive psychology, I work to help clients become engaged in their life and to experience meaningful success as well as loving and fulfilling relationship with others.

I work with children, adults, families, and schools and offer a variety of service options. There are office sessions available, as well as online and phone therapy services. Online sessions are conducted via a HIPAA Secure Client Portal. In-home behavioral consultations are also available for Long Island families. E-therapy services in the Virtual Office include face-to-face video sessions, e-mail support, journaling, and online chat.

I offer a workshop package for college students and soon-to-be college students that is designed to provide resources and education about having a meaningful, healthy, safe, successful, and fun college experience.

A Behavior Management Group is available for parents of children exhibiting difficult and challenging behavior.
