“Ms. Grimaldi made the decision to not authorize a refill for my medication for severe depression and an anxiety disorder - Unprofessional”
Ms. Grimaldi and I had a 15 minute session via phone; she was out of town. I received a $100 bill. She had not told me beforehand that phone sessions were paid for out-of-pocket. I did not pay the bill and stopped seeing her. Ms. Grimaldi made the decision to not authorize a refill for my medication for severe depression and an anxiety disorder. I had to wait weeks until I had an appointment with a new psychiatrist. Ms. Grimaldi was aware that the lack of medication had a significant impact on my mental health and continued to withhold medication that she had prescribed. Very upsetting experience, especially for someone who was reluctant to seek professional help and wary of trusting others.
The next psychiatrist I had diagnosed me with moderate OCD after giving me the standard checklist and discussing my history. Ms. Grimaldi said I had "OCD like symptoms" and never gave me any diagnostic measures.
