Not Very Helpful, I'm Afraid...

This is a review detailing my time as a patient of Dr. Dan Kugler. My decision to share my experience was not an easy one for me to make, as I strive to turn the other cheek as often as possible, but ultimately I felt that I would be remiss if I didn't at least attempt to caution others who might be considering seeing him as a therapist. I would also like to say that my experiences with Dr Kugler occurred several years ago and that he may have very well changed his behavior for the better since then. Also, I feel it is only fair to point out that Dr. Kugler came very highly recommended at that time by a Christian church in Marin and, for all I know, my encounter with him might easily have been an isolated incident.
My girlfriend and I began seeing Dr. Kugler for couples counseling. We had recently discovered she was pregnant and, unfortunately, she had made the decision to have an abortion. I was struggling with my sadness at her decision and, as a result, I was feeling uncomfortable being intimate with her. I should point out here that she and I had not told Dr. Kugler about the abortion because she wanted to keep that private for the time being and I respected her wishes.
However, after only a few appointments, Dr. Kugler began to make sarcastic comments and to blatantly flirt with my girlfriend. I was, of course, shocked by his behavior and chose not to return for any further appointments. I must say that it struck me as very unprofessional of him (to say the least). My girlfriend and I broke up soon after.
I am now married to a beautiful and wonderful woman whom I love passionately and dearly, and we are starting a family together. I include this information because I wanted to show that things turned out for the best in the end and that I really hold no malice towards Dr. Kugler for the way in which he behaved back then. This is also the reason I've chosen to rate him 3 stars, despite my bad experience with him. That said, I do feel the need to warn anyone who might be considering seeing him for couples counseling.
I truly bear Dr. Kugler no ill will. We all make mistakes. "let he who is without sin cast the first stone." I'm not throwing stones. I truly hope that, today, his life is as rich and full as my own. God bless.
