Our Comprehensive Sickle Cell Center is one of the largest centers in the United States. Through decades of participation in research and education opportunities, we have contributed immensely to better understanding and advancing treatment of this condition. We pride ourselves in knowing that our contributions have changed the lives of individuals living with this disease.
What we offer:
The ECU Health Hemophilia Treatment Center is a comprehensive lifespan clinic with both adult and pediatric specialty services. This ensures that any patient seen at our center will visit the same clinic through their lifetime. Services include specialized diagnostics, evaluation, treatment, rehabilitation, outreach, education, and research.
Our team is comprised of hematologists, advanced practitioners, nurse specialist, social workers, physical therapists, clinical research data managers, child life specialists and a nurse assistant. We also provide referrals to orthopedists, dentists, psychologists, genetics counselors, and other professionals as needed.
Additionally, our Hemophilia Treatment Center is a part of a national network of over 140 comprehensive hemophilia diagnostic and treatment centers that provide comprehensive specialty care to people with rare inherited bleeding disorders and their families. We are part of the American Thrombosis and Homeostasis Network (ATHN), and we provide access to multiple clinical trials for thrombosis and hemophilia.
