Baxter Regional Medical Center was the first hospital in Arkansas and Missouri to offer 3D mammography technology. Women can receive their physician-referred mammogram at the state-of-the-art Breast Imaging Center designed to create a soothing, relaxing atmosphere while patients undergo breast cancer screenings and other imaging tests. Baxter Regional is also home to the first Mobile Mammography Unit (MMU) in the United States to have 3-D digital mammography technology on board. The MMU of Baxter Regional has been traveling throughout North Central Arkansas and South Central Missouri in order to provide breast cancer screenings to an underserved population in outlying rural areas since 2001.
