This was a very uncomfortable telephone conversation. I thank Dr. Katkof for the diagnostic tests:, the stool sample analysis and the sigmoidoscopy, but we have not identified why I have such chronic diarrhea. He wants to treat the symptoms with Imodium, but we do not know why I have this Gastro intestinal problem.Do I have colitis? Do I have SIBO? What is the reason for all this G.I. Disturbance and these embarrassing explosions of my gut?So, to be honest, I'm very frustrated. I'm not sure where to go from here.Thank you for listening to this honest dialogue

Dr W.N.K. Shows extreme and total interest in my medical situation, past and present. His reaction to learning of my car accident, mother's death and my hydrocephalus for a 32month recovery was heartfelt. Dr K was the first person in 28 years to comfort me in the loss of my mother by saying, "Your mother was with you on that fateful vacation trip. You gave her joy by spending time with her, taking trips together. I am a parent. I know what this means. Your mother had time together with you. You showed love to your mother by being together " Dr K displays the Good Old-fashioned doctor's skill of Bedside Manner. He listens. He observes. He cares.
