The surgeon was great through the whole process. The exam, options, day of surgery, follow up, etc. I have concerns about the Anesthesiologist. She met me in advance as well as could see my athletic build while on the operating table. She put the mask on me and said, "take a breath and you'll go to sleep." After multiple breaths, I was not asleep. She asked if I was athletic, to which I responded, "yes. I'm a professional athlete." She said I had a strong heart and kept upping the dose. Finally, I felt it, but vocalized that what started as a burn in my arm at the IV, quickly spread through my entire body. I felt like my chest was on fire, and I said so. I didn't wake up until more than 4 hours after the surgery was completed. I was unable to urinate on my own for 4 days, couldn't pass gas for 2 days (with two excruciating nights due to gas, bloating, and the pressure regardless of taking GasX as suggested by the hospital nurse), and couldn't have a bowel movement for three full days (regardless of taking MiraLAX and Dulcalax).
