Dr. McDonald used a computer program to see a summary of my earlier visits and tests and shared the information in a conversational tone. I usually send him my talking points by MyChart message. He calls up that message and answers my questions or addresses my concerns within the visit. Based on my submitted questions and a review of my home-test results, he answered my questions about any need for colonoscopy; he changed one Rx to a different medication; he changed the dose of another medication; he ordered a PSA; he ordered an ultrasound of my thyroid nodules; and he sent a referral for an Endocrinologist visit. He explained these actions as he did them and verified my understanding. He explained the need for another blood test and walked me to the lab and spoke to the lab employee.
