BHRT providers may not accept insurance for a variety of reasons. One reason is that insurance companies may not cover BHRT or may only cover it in certain situations or for specific conditions. Furthermore, insurance companies often dictate what tests and treatments can be performed, which may limit the BHRT provider's ability to provide personalized and comprehensive care. As a result, we choose to operate as cash-only practices to have greater control over the treatments we offer and the quality of care they provide to their patients. However, patients may be able to use their insurance to cover the cost of blood tests that the BHRT provider orders. Patients need to check with their insurance provider to understand what is covered and what their out-of-pocket expenses may be.
