Dr. Kareem was practicing in Pittsfield, MA in 1999 and 2000. I had a craniotomy in 1994 to remove a meningioma in my right frontal area of my brain. The resultant scar tissue caused seizures. My previous neurologist, who did follow up after my surgery had prescribed Depakote. The seizures still continued. In 1999 I change…

Review of Dr. Zubair Kareem

In 1999 I changed neurologists and was fortunate enough to be able to secure an appointment with Dr. Kareem. My husband and I spoke with him at length. He suggested that I start taking Phenobarbital, and begin to wean off the Depakote. I followed his advice, and had several follow up appointments with Dr. Kareem, until I was taking only Phenobarbital at night. I have been seizure free ever since. Both my husband and I are very grateful for Dr. Kareem's advice and knowledge. I see another local/Pittsfield, MA, neurologist, who agrees with Dr. Kareem, that I will probably need the Phenobarbital for life. At 79, I am seizure free, hope to remain so, and although I am slowing down, due to age, I am to do all that I did, drive, keep up a house and garden, and see friends for lunch or dinner, entertain, and in general, enjoy my retirement years.
Holyoke, is indeed fortunate to have the expertise, knowledge and compassion of Dr. Kareem.
