I was surprised when I mentioned that I have a family history of young-onset breast and colon cancer in my family and my PA did not think of possible genetic implications. While I have already had genetic testing (which I don't believe my provider is aware of as it happened externally), this should be on PCPs radars for patients with family histories of young-onset cancers.
