“very bad experience from another member of the infamous Millenium group”
Dr. Burkhart spent far more time with my husband than with me. My hearing aids were not comfortable, which I mentioned to her on several occasions. When I returned to Michigan for the summer, I encountered a problem with one of my aids in Michigan. I was told to mail it back to them, which I did with insurance. They called and told me that the aid had been fixed and was being returned to me. After waiting several weeks, with nothing arriving from the Millenium Group, I finally received an admission from them that there was no tracking number, as it was sent through regular mail. They reluctantly overnighter my repaired hearing aid. I never seemed to hear as well after that.
Upon my return to Naples, I discovered that not only did I have two right hearing aids, but the good doctor had submitted a claim to Phonak stating that I had lost the hearing aid. She refused to discuss the matter further. By this time, I wanted nothing to do with Dr. Burkhart or the Millenium Group. It was very difficult to fire them and move on, as they continued to make excuses as to why I could not go to a doctor of my choosing. They violated Hippa and refused to return my records to me. Eventually, after being out $5000.oo dollars and without a usable set of hearing aids, my husband and I were invited to pick up our records at the front desk. They were not ready. I was upset and told them so in no uncertain terms. We offered to have lunch and return later in the day. They insisted we wait, never asked us to leave, and called the police to have us escorted out as we were "trespassing". It is impossible to be tresspass, if you have never been asked to leave.. Check this out with your attorney. I would never again have anything to do with this doctor or the Millenium Group. This group makes money by saving money for Medicare, as they function as an accountable care organization. I do not believe this results in quality care for the patient. Don't you feel you deserve better?
