“He listened patiently and asked ...”
He listened patiently and asked smart questions. He was clearly thinking scientifically, interested in the full context while keeping in mind the diagnostic/clinical goals. He gradually built up to a sensible clinical plan and then respectfully and clearly explained his reasoning, what to expect from the plan, and what might happen given different results. After my test results came in, he promptly messaged me in MyChart (himself, not even his nurse or assistant!) with a thoughtful interpretation and next steps, then facilitated scheduling with another specialist (the need for which he also clearly explained). He then messaged me again to make sure I was able to get a prompt appointment. Way above and beyond in accessibility, communication, thoughtfulness, and thoroughness.
